There will also be an opportunity to learn more about breast health in younger women and to practice self-examination techniques on breast models.

Sharsheret will join thousands of women and men gathering in New York City's Central Park to participate in Susan G. Komen for the Cure's Race for the Cure, a monumental breast cancer fundraising and awareness event. Team Sharsheret will meet at 8:30 a.m. on Race Day on the northeast corner of 74th Street and Central Park West for a Team Sharsheret photo. There will also be an opportunity to learn more about breast cancer genetics from Sharsheret’s Genetics Program Coordinator Niecee Singer Schonberger, MS, CGC, as she presents, “Hereditary Breast and Ovarian Cancer: What Jewish Women Need to Know”, breast health in younger women, and to practice self-examination techniques on breast models.

During the Teleconference, Sharsheret’s Clinical Supervisor, Shera Dubitsky will offer guidelines for serving as a peer supporter, resources to share with other women facing breast cancer, and a role play simulation.
