There will also be an opportunity to learn more about breast cancer genetics from Sharsheret’s Genetics Program Coordinator Niecee Singer Schonberger, MS, CGC, as she presents, “Hereditary Breast and Ovarian Cancer: What Jewish Women Need to Know”, breast health in younger women, and to practice self-examination techniques on breast models.

During the Teleconference, Sharsheret’s Clinical Supervisor, Shera Dubitsky will offer guidelines for serving as a peer supporter, resources to share with other women facing breast cancer, and a role play simulation.

Free National Teleconference

Sharsheret will present a free national teleconference, “Take It From Me: My Experience In My Own Words,” Tuesday, March 3, 2009, 8:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. (EST). Panelists Linda Blachman, MPH, MA (Personal Historian, Author, and Founder, Mothers’ Living Stories Project), Janet Ruth Falon, MLA (Creative Writing Teacher, University of Pennsylvania), and Jill Cohen (Blogger, Dancing With Cancer: Living With Mets, a “New Normal”) will share their expertise and guidance on the various ways you can record your personal history and experiences.
