Teaneck, New Jersey (April 8, 2019) – Sharsheret, the only national not-for-profit organization dedicated to addressing the needs of women and families, of all Jewish backgrounds, facing breast cancer and ovarian cancer, is proud to welcome Jordanna Nadritch to the Board of Directors and Dr. Caryn Gamss and Dr. Amy Kusske to the Medical Advisory Board.
Jordanna Nadritch is a Senior Legal Editor for the Bankruptcy & Restructuring service of Practical Law at Thomson Reuters. She received her JD from Fordham Law School and practiced corporate bankruptcy and restructuring law at prestigious New York City law firms for twelve years, prior to assuming her current position. Jordanna lost her mother to breast cancer in 2008 and became involved with Sharsheret in 2013 when she began to identify as a cancer previvor, and is an active Sharsheret volunteer. She has served as a co-chair for Sharsheret’s annual New Jersey Benefit, participated in the New York City half marathon in 2016 with Team Sharsheret, and has been featured in Sharsheret videos highlighting her family’s connection to breast cancer, her role as a caregiver, and how Sharsheret improves lives for women and families affected by breast cancer. Jordanna and her husband, Marc, reside in Englewood, New Jersey and have three children.
Dr. Caryn Gamss is a board certified radiologist at Murray Hill Radiology and Mammography in New York City; she specializes in Women’s Imaging . Dr. Gamss’ clinical expertise includes modalities such as mammography, ultrasound and MRI. She also performs a variety of breast interventional procedures such as stereotactic, ultrasound and MRI guided biopsies as well as pre-operative needle localization. Dr. Gamss received her medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) medical honor society in 2008.
Dr. Gamss trained in Diagnostic Radiology at the Montefiore Medical Center, followed by dedicated fellowships in both Women’s Imaging and Neuroradiology at Weill Cornell Medical Center/ NYP Hospital. Caryn began volunteering with Sharsheret in 2016 and has served on Sharsheret’s New Jersey and New York City Benefit Committees. Dr. Gamss has also written blog posts for Sharsheret focusing on important issues such as breast density and its implications for screening measures, and what to expect for your first mammogram. Caryn’s thought leadership on these topics has also been used by Sharsheret as a resource at events.
Dr. Amy Kusske is an Associate Clinical Professor of Surgery at the University of California Los Angeles, David Geffen School of Medicine and the Co-Director of the UCLA Santa Monica Breast Center. Dr. Kusske received her medical degree and graduated with AOA honors from the University of Southern California School of Medicine. She then completed her general surgery residency at the University of California Los Angeles. Dr. Kusske’s surgical practice focuses on the care of patients with benign and malignant breast disease. She strongly believes in a multidisciplinary approach to breast cancer care and has helped build and lead the Santa Monica Multidisciplinary Breast Program. Dr. Kusske has served on the Sharsheret California Regional Office Advisory Committee since 2017, has spoken for Sharsheret at key symposia on the West Coast, and has meaningfully contributed to Sharsheret’s growth throughout the region.
“We are thrilled to welcome these incredible women to our national Boards,” said Executive Director Elana Silber. “They bring a wealth of expertise, experience, and passion, that will guide and enhance our efforts to improve quality of life for women and families facing breast and ovarian cancer and to provide life-saving education and outreach to the broader community.”

ABOUT SHARSHERET
Sharsheret, Hebrew for chain, a national cancer organization with five offices (California, Florida, Illinois, New Jersey and New York), serves 120,000 women, families, health care professionals, community leaders, and students, in all 50 states.
