Amy Shapses, PT, CLT, PYT, CERT. MDT.

Amy Shapses is an integrative physical therapist, educator and the founder of Flow Physical Therapy, a boutique practice based in NYC. With over twenty years of experience, she has devoted her practice to the lifelong health, well-being and function of women, including a specialization with those affected by cancer.

Amy is passionate about patient care. She is driven by deep connections and the long-lasting relationships she develops throughout one-on-one treatment sessions. Amy is known for her attention to detail, strong listening skills, treating the whole person and empowering her patients to be active participants in their recovery and through their wellness journey. Amy’s individualized treatment plans include listening intently, patient education, myofascial technique’s, therapeutic exercise and medical therapeutic yoga, an evidence-based yoga technique.

Amy graduated magna cum laude from Northeastern University and received a degree in Physical Therapy. In addition, she is certified in both Medical Therapeutic Yoga, through the Professional Yoga Therapy Institute and in the Leduc Method of Manual Lymphatic Drainage through Pacific Therapy Education, Inc. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, Oncology section.

Prior to founding Flow Physical Therapy, Amy was the Director of Physical Therapy at Iris Cantor Women’s Health Center at Weill Cornell Medical College, one of the world’s leading institutions of medical science and patient care.

An advocate of the breast cancer and medical communities, Amy spends time continuously learning, educating, and driving awareness at local fundraisers and hospital functions. Known for hosting social and meaningful patient get-togethers, Amy’s commitment to wellness is never-ending.
