Living Waters: Rituals of Resilience and Rebirth

July 8 @ 8:00 pm EDT

There is a strong history of innovative healing rituals within the cancer community. Judaism has its own rituals as well. Join Sharsheret as we welcome Becca Heisler, a wonderful ritualist and outdoorist, to learn about different water rituals that support healing from the cancer experience, and to participate in creating something new and special for Sharsheret callers. Please join us if you are facing cancer, a survivor, a caregiver, or a Jewish professional interested in supporting community members.
Questions? Contact Melissa Rosen.

Becca (she/her) is a rabbinical student, ritualist, and educator. Originally from the homelands of the Ojibwe, Odawa, and Potawatomi nations (the Chicago area), she spent many years making home in Lisjan Ohlone territory (Berkeley/Oakland, CA) where she served the community by facilitating Jewish outdoor education programs and guiding earth-based rites of passage for youth K-12 and adults of all ages. She is a graduate of Tufts University, the Urban Adamah Fellowship, and the JOFEE Fellowship, and is currently pursuing Rabbinic ordination at Hebrew College. Becca is a devoted student of the waters, learning transformation, renewal, and interconnectedness. She spends her days in conversation with the ancestors through soulful prayer, joyfully wrestling her way through Talmud study, and listening to the birds.
