Diana Bryk Straus, M.D.

Dr. Diana Bryk is an Attending Molecular Pathologist at Westchester Medical Center and an Assistant Professor of Pathology, Microbiology, and Immunology at New York Medical College. She earned her Bachelor of Arts from Columbia University and her medical degree from the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Dr. Bryk completed her residency in Clinical Pathology at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia, followed by fellowship training in Molecular Genetic Pathology within the Division of Personalized Genomic Medicine at Columbia University Irving Medical Center.

Dr. Bryk’s professional focus lies in the integration of molecular diagnostics into precision medicine, particularly in oncology and clinical molecular testing. Her work involves the interpretation of next-generation sequencing data, the development and validation of diagnostic assays, and close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to transform molecular insights into actionable clinical care. Her research has been published in several medical journals and presented at various national conferences.

A dedicated educator and mentor, Dr. Bryk is deeply involved in training medical students, residents, and fellows in molecular pathology and clinical diagnostics. As Director of the Genetics Theme and Director of the Hematology and Neoplasia course at New York Medical College, she has led the development of the medical genetics and oncology curricula and plays a key role in communicating complex genomic concepts to diverse clinical and academic audiences.
