Last year, I did a brief talk to parents, kids, and clergy in my temple about genetic cancer risk and it had a surprising impact. Someone in attendance had just found out about their own family’s cancer risk. My talk helped them figure out what steps to take to reduce their cancer risk. Knowing that a talk to a small audience made a difference for someone was inspiring to me. I realized I wanted to do this on a larger scale to share information to more people who might need it. I learned about Sharsheret while researching cancer risk in Ashkenazi Jews and was very impressed with your work.

I am an eighth grader at Manhasset Middle School. I love acting, musical theater, science, math, and learning new languages. I grew up bilingual in Spanish and now I am learning American Sign Language. One fun fact about me is that I got to be on Sesame Street a few years ago!
