Cancer Brain Fog

January 12, 2021 @ 1:00 pm EST

Debunk the myth of “Chemo Brain” and learn strategies to help you cope with cognitive changes you might experience after a cancer diagnosis. Kathleen Van Dyk, PhD, UCLA Assistant Professor and Neuropsychologist, will discuss changes to cognition after cancer and cancer treatments (sometimes called “Chemo Brain”, although not limited to experiences with chemotherapy). Common problems include changes in memory, focus, finding the right word or name, and multi-tasking. She will cover the scientific understanding about why these symptoms occur and present information about how patients can manage them, and answer any questions attendees might have.
