Healthcare Provider Training: Simple Coping Mechanisms to Reduce Cancer-Related Stress in Patients
January 28 @ 1:00 pm EST
Sharsheret’s free, one-hour training, Simple Coping Mechanisms to Reduce Cancer-related Stress in Patients is an interactive training that explores imagery and metaphors to assist patients with the anxiety that commonly accompanies diagnoses, treatment, and survivorship. These tools, meant to be shared with patients, are intentionally familiar, and easily recalled, to be used during moments of unexpected stress, to allow the patient to reframe their thoughts surrounding a particular concern. While these tools are not meant as a replacement for ongoing therapy for those who need, they do allow for a non-threatening introduction to the topic of mental health. Also included is an introduction to Sharsheret’s free psychosocial support for breast and ovarian cancer patients.
Free CE credit may be available through ASWB, NYSW, ANCC, and ACCME.
