Teaneck, New Jersey (May 3, 2016) – Sharsheret, a national not-for-profit organization dedicated to addressing the needs of women and families facing breast cancer and ovarian cancer, will host its Annual Benefit on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at 10:30 AM at the Marriott at Glenpointe in Teaneck, New Jersey. More than 600 women and men are expected to participate.

Sharsheret will recognize the incredible contributions of Dana Post Adler (Tenafly, NJ), Guest of Honor, Deborah Leipzig (NYC), recipient of the Lisa Altman Volunteer Tribute Award, and Dr. Elana Rosman (West Hempstead, NY), Young Leadership. This year’s Benefit will also commemorate the first yahrtzeit of our Founder, Rochelle L. Shoretz A”H.

Dana is a member of Team Sharsheret competing in half-marathons every year, and she coordinates “Sharsheret Pink Day” in collaboration with the Jewish Women’s Foundation in New Jersey. Deb is also a Team Sharsheret athlete and raises funds for Sharsheret. She launched the Sharsheret Young Professionals Circle and advised on the Regional Structure Committee (resulting in the establishment of the first Sharsheret satellite office in Florida). Elana, herself a breast cancer survivor, serves as a member of the Sharsheret Evaluation Advisory Board, assessing the impact of Sharsheret’s programs and services, and spearheaded an awareness program for Long Island healthcare professionals.

“This year’s Benefit recognizes three incredible women who are helping Sharsheret carry on Rochelle’s dream – a world in which no Jewish women will have to face breast or ovarian cancer alone,” said Executive Director Elana Silber. “We are truly grateful to the thousands of women and men who advance Sharsheret’s efforts to support Jewish women facing breast cancer and ovarian cancer with individualized programs and resources. Together we have changed the cancer community and the Jewish community.” The Benefit will feature a silent auction and debut Sharsheret’s newest video. The video will be available online following the Benefit (www.Sharsheret.org).
