Taking Control through Preventive Health

Taking Control through Preventive Health

As busy professionals, parents, caregivers, and friends, we’re often focused on living one choice at a time. We prioritize our careers, relationships, and self-care, but when it comes to our health – and especially preventive health – many of us struggle to find the same sense of control. Yet with the right tools, you can make informed decisions that have a lasting impact in preserving your health and fighting disease.

23andMe’s most comprehensive product,  23andMe+ Total Health, is designed to provide actionable information that can help you live a longer and healthier life. Complete with exome sequencing, biannual blood biomarker testing, and expert clinician care, 23andMe+ Total Health equips you with the information you need to make choices that align with your health goals.

Advanced Genetic Testing

Understanding your genetic risks* can be a powerful step in developing a preventive health plan. With Total Health, you gain access to clinical-grade testingΔ of 101 genes, including all of the genes considered medically actionable by the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics. Testing these genes can reveal potential risks for hereditary conditions such as hereditary breast and ovarian cancer, Lynch syndrome, familial hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, and many others. These conditions can each impact longevity, but unfortunately, genetic risks for these conditions are often missed by traditional healthcare. By identifying these risks early, you and your care team can work together to take preventive measures against disease.

23andMe+ Total Health uses exome sequencing for an in-depth analysis of genetic risks. Exome sequencing can examine known variants in the genome, as well as identify variants that are unknown – and in so doing, provide you with a more complete picture of your genetic predispositions for certain health conditions. With 23andMe+ Total Health, exome sequencing is ordered by a clinician, is analyzed by a CLIA- and CAP-accredited laboratory, and can be used for clinical purposes.

Biannual Blood Testing for Comprehensive Health Monitoring

In addition to genetic testing, Total Health includes biannual blood testing that tracks key cardiometabolic biomarkers. This clinician-ordered panel tracks your progress and can detect early signs of conditions like heart disease, diabetes, and more. Through regular monitoring, you can make data-driven decisions about your diet, exercise, and lifestyle as they each pertain to your long-term health.

Tracking Your Biological Age

Have you ever wondered how your body is aging? 23andMe’s Biological Age feature offers a better predictor of longevity than calendar age alone. Powered by advanced AI modeling of key blood biomarkers that reflect the condition of major organs, Biological Age offers a more precise understanding of how your body is aging. By understanding your Biological Age, you can make adjustments aimed to slow the aging process and improve your long-term quality of life.

Access to Clinical Services

Whether you’re concerned about your cancer risks or want to stay as proactive as possible, having a team of healthcare professionals at your side can make a big difference. Each Total Health annual subscription provides unlimited access to expert clinicians via messaging and a once-yearly clinical consultation. This service offers a genetics-informed, personalized approach to your health, giving you the support you need to navigate complex health decisions.

While our Total Health service includes multiple types of genetic testing that can provide valuable insights for everyone, it’s important to remember that Total Health is still a screening test. Some individuals, particularly those with personal or family medical histories of certain diseases, may benefit from additional clinical genetic testing for a more in-depth evaluation.

Proactive health management is key to living a full and healthy life. With 23andMe+ Total Health, you have the resources to stay informed, make preventive choices, and take charge of your health journey. In a world where healthcare can often feel impersonal, 23andMe+ Total Health offers a way to truly take control of your unique health journey in a commitment to yourself and your future.

*The 23andMe PGS test includes health predisposition and carrier status reports. Health predisposition reports include both reports that meet FDA requirements for genetic health risks and reports which are based on 23andMe research and have not been reviewed by the FDA. The test uses qualitative genotyping to detect select clinically relevant variants in the genomic DNA of adults from saliva for the purpose of reporting and interpreting genetic health risks and reporting carrier status. It is not intended to diagnose any disease. Your ethnicity may affect the relevance of each report and how your genetic health risk results are interpreted. Each genetic health risk report describes if a person has variants associated with a higher risk of developing a disease, but does not describe a person’s overall risk of developing the disease. The test is not intended to tell you anything about your current state of health, or to be used to make medical decisions, including whether or not you should take a medication, how much of a medication you should take, or determine any treatment. Our carrier status reports can be used to determine carrier status, but cannot determine if you have two copies of any genetic variant. These carrier reports are not intended to tell you anything about your risk for developing a disease in the future, the health of your fetus, or your newborn child’s risk of developing a particular disease later in life. For certain conditions, we provide a single report that includes information on both carrier status and genetic health risk. For important information and limitations regarding each genetic health risk report, visit 23andme.com/test-info.

ΔExome Sequencing and blood testing services are available to eligible customers upon completion of the intake questionnaire that must be reviewed, approved and ordered by a third-party clinician. Exome Sequencing is analyzed by a CLIA- and CAP-accredited laboratory. Blood testing is completed by Quest Diagnostics. All telehealth services are provided in accordance with the Telehealth Terms and Consent to Telehealth.
