Talia Donenberg M.S.,CGC, LGC, is a board-certified genetic counselor licensed in the state of Florida, specializing in cancer genetics for over 25 years. Her career parallels the growth of hereditary cancer genetic counseling since the mid 1990s when BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes were identified. In 2000, Talia co-founded the 1st multidisciplinary cancer genetics program at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center and continues to be part of this program through education, genetic counseling and testing for her patients and families’. Talia further contributes to this ever-evolving field by educating the lay and professional public about advances in genetic/genomic testing, cancer risk stratification, early detection, risk reduction and precision treatments both in the US and abroad, promoting the empowerment of patients. Fluent in both English and Spanish, Talia loves working with a diverse demographic of patients and is eternally grateful to patients and their families who have given her the honor to enter their lives and assist them in some of their most difficult moments.
