Dr. Beth Familant

Dr. Beth Familant  has been a dedicated internist at Boca Regional Hospital where she has built a career centered around patient care and advocacy. In July 2022, she faced a personal health challenge when she was diagnosed with invasive lobular carcinoma. Dr. Familant underwent a double mastectomy in August 2022, followed by two additional surgeries. Now on a five-year course of Tamoxifen, she is doing well and continues to embrace life with resilience.

A passionate advocate for cancer awareness, Dr. Familant has been actively involved in speaking for Sharsheret since her diagnosis, using her experience to educate and empower others. She firmly believes in the importance of self-advocacy for patients navigating their own health journeys.

Dr. Familant is married to Dr Brian Bernick, a former Ob/Gyn, and together they have two wonderful children, Ariella and Gabriel, both of whom attend Northwestern University in Chicago. Outside of her professional and volunteer work, she enjoys staying active by playing tennis, running, and spinning on her Peloton. She also loves spending time with the family’s newest addition, a playful Goldendoodle puppy named Miley.
