New Advances in Gynecological Health Before and After Cancer
Sharsheret National Symposium
Teaneck, New Jersey (June 13, 2012) — Sharsheret, a national not-for-profit organization supporting young women and their families, of all Jewish backgrounds, facing breast cancer, will present a free national symposium via teleconference and webinar, “New Advances in Gynecological Health Before and After Cancer,” Wednesday, July 11, 2012, 8:00 p.m. (EDT). An audio recording and written transcript will be posted online following the symposium at www.sharsheret.org.
The symposium will feature experts in the field of medical oncology and gynecological oncology, Dr. Tessa Cigler and Dr. Elizabeth Poynor, who will address gynecological concerns before and after a breast cancer or ovarian cancer diagnosis. A Sharsheret peer supporter will share her experience addressing gynecological questions in her personal breast cancer journey.
“Growing a family is a strong Jewish value, and Jewish women nationwide have questions about gynecological concerns before and after a cancer diagnosis.” said Clinical Supervisor Shera Dubitsky. “With cultural sensitivity and understanding, Sharsheret’s symposium will focus on issues related to birth control, fertility, pregnancy, nursing, early onset menopause, hormone replacement, and bone health so that women can make informed decisions.”
Following the panelists’ presentations, there will be an opportunity to pose questions during the question and answer session. All participants will remain anonymous.
