Sharsheret Pink Day Worldwide 2013
Teaneck, New Jersey (February 8, 2013)- Sharsheret, Hebrew for “chain”, a national not-for-profit organization supporting young women and their families, of all Jewish backgrounds, facing breast cancer, will celebrate the 4th Annual Sharsheret Pink Day Worldwide on Wednesday, February 13th. Sharsheret’s Pink Day Worldwide empowers students in high school and college to educate their peers about breast cancer in the Jewish community and Sharsheret’s national programs.
This year, we expect more than 2,000 students from 85 schools around the nation, Canada, and Israel to participate. Sharsheret Pink Day Worldwide raises vital breast cancer awareness, as thousands of students dedicate this day to wear pink, share photos, and promote the initiative.
“Each year, student leaders become more creative in engaging their peers in Sharsheret Pink Day Worldwide events. Students at Yeshiva University will host their second annual Pink Cake Wars, Rowan University will release hundreds of pink and white balloons in honor and memory of loved ones, and students at University of California, Santa Barbara will sell pink Sharsheret giveaways and other items in their campus community,” said Sharsheret’s Campus Liaison Ellen Kleinhaus. “Together, we send the message that breast cancer is not a Jewish woman’s issue, but rather a Jewish community issue.”

ABOUT SHARSHERET
Sharsheret, Hebrew for “chain”, is a national not-for-profit organization supporting young women and their families, of all Jewish backgrounds, facing breast cancer.
