Teaneck, New Jersey (August 1, 2014) – Sharsheret, a national not-for-profit organization supporting young women and families facing breast cancer and ovarian cancer, will team up with Just Solutions and Bed Bath & Beyond to raise awareness about Sharsheret and the programs it offers breast cancer survivors nationwide. Sharsheret corporate partners become goodwill partners in the fight against breast cancer and ovarian cancer and donate a portion of their proceeds to support Sharsheret’s free national programs and services provided to the thousands of families who contact Sharsheret for support.
During September and October, Just Solutions’s new special edition pink Hang It jewelry organizer will be featured in Bed Bath & Beyond’s special breast cancer awareness section. Just Solutions will donate 3% of the proceeds from the sale of every Hang It with the special pink ribbon label to Sharsheret. This special-edition Hang It will be available in Bed Bath & Beyond stores nationwide and on Just Solutions’s website throughout the fall season. “Sharsheret is grateful for our partnership with Just Solutions and Bed Bath and Beyond during October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month,” said Program Manager Ellen Kleinhaus. “Together we will raise awareness about Sharsheret and breast cancer among thousands of women and men nationwide.”
Just Solutions is made up of a group of young, tight-knit entrepreneurs who are passionate about bringing new, innovative, and solution-based products to market. “Like most everyone, the team at Just Solutions has had firsthand experience with brave women who have suffered from breast cancer,” said Founder and CEO David Klar. “We chose Sharsheret because they are close to home and heart- we’ve seen firsthand the wonderful effect they’ve had on breast cancer patients (and associated family!) in our community. They also have amazing online resources available to everyone.”
About Sharsheret
Sharsheret, Hebrew for “chain”, is a national not-for-profit organization supporting young women and their families, of all Jewish backgrounds, facing breast cancer. Our mission is to offer a community of support to women diagnosed with breast cancer or at increased genetic risk, by fostering culturally-relevant individualized connections with networks of peers, health professionals, and related resources.
Since Sharsheret’s founding in 2001, we have responded to more than 30,000 breast cancer inquiries, involved more than 2,500 peer supporters, and presented over 250 educational programs nationwide. Sharsheret supports young Jewish women and families facing breast cancer at every stage – before, during, and after diagnosis. We help women and families connect to our community in the way that feels most comfortable, taking into consideration their stage of life, diagnosis, or treatment, as well as their connection to Judaism. We also provide educational resources, offer specialized support to those facing ovarian cancer or at high risk of developing cancer, and create programs for women and families to improve their quality of life. All Sharsheret programs are open to all women and men.
