Talking to Kids About Cancer
October 13, 2021 @ 11:00 am EDT
When someone receives a cancer diagnosis they find themselves facing many difficult tasks. Among those tasks is explaining the diagnosis to children. It does not matter if the children are toddlers, teens, or adults – each age presents its own unique challenges that must be addressed. Join us to explore the needs of children when a parent has cancer, learn concrete suggestions on how to share a diagnosis or change of status, and how to avoid some common pitfalls when sharing the news. Join Sharsheret’s Melissa Rosen, Director of Training and Education and JFCS of Northern NJ’s Etti Hochberg, LCSW to learn more. To register call 201-833-3392 or visit www.holyname.org/CancerSupport.
