Making a Difference: Empowering Lives Through Sharsheret
I’m eagerly counting down the days until Sharsheret’s 3rd Annual West Coast Dash, where I will proudly lead Team YICC (Young Israel of Century City), my synagogue in Los Angeles, for the third year. As Team Captain, I play a pivotal role in raising awareness and funds for Sharsheret, an organization close to my heart due to its vital support for individuals and families affected by breast and ovarian cancer. Rallying others to join our cause, I amplify our collective effort to make a difference. The Dash isn’t just a race; it’s a celebration of resilience and solidarity, where we unite to support cancer prevention, early detection, and the crucial support networks provided by Sharsheret.
Sharsheret stands out for its proactive approach, educating Jewish communities about hereditary cancer risks and offering resources like genetic counseling and financial assistance. These services ease the burden of navigating the healthcare system and ensure everyone receives top-notch care. My involvement extends beyond the Dash; serving on Sharsheret’s advisory board since 2023 has allowed me to shape the organization’s initiatives, ensuring they remain effective and responsive to community needs. This role connects me with a dedicated community, fostering collaborations that amplify our impact on cancer awareness and support. Ultimately, being part of Sharsheret, whether as a Team Captain or advisory board member, is about making a meaningful impact in the lives of others, advocating for critical causes, and nurturing a supportive community within and beyond the Jewish community. Being part of the Sharsheret family is both a privilege and a responsibility, and I am honored to contribute to their mission of providing support, education, and hope to those affected by breast and ovarian cancer.
