Running In Memory Of My Mother-in-law
I am excited to share with you that I am an official member of Team Sharsheret for the 2018 United Airlines NYC Half-Marathon! I started training several months ago for my race, and am inspired to undertake this rigorous challenge as I am doing it in memory of one of my heroes, my dear mother-in-law Arlene Pinkus in support of an amazing organization. As many of you know, Arlene was a survivor of both breast and ovarian cancer which makes it It is particularly meaningful for me to race on behalf of Sharsheret because of the support they have provided to young women who were touched by both of these horrible diseases.
Sharsheret is the only organization that provides the vital culturally-relevant support that Jewish women are desperately seeking. As I continually hear about the wonderful resource Sharsheret is both locally and nationally, I wonder how I could do more. How can I make a difference while at the same time pay tribute to a wonderful woman, wife, mother and grandmother. By taking on this personal challenge to raise money in Arlene’s name and joining with the other members of Team Sharsheret I have found my answer.
As a member of this incredible Team, I have exceeded my goal to raise funds in support of Sharsheret’s breast cancer and ovarian cancer programs and services, and can’t wait to race this Sunday!
