Sharsheret Summit: Pink, Teal, and You

During Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we are dedicating a week to bringing educational and awareness programs to people all across the country through our Sharsheret Summit.

We need your help to educate tens of thousands of people virtually and in-person all across the country, improving and saving lives.

Organizations are encouraged to participate in two ways:

Sign on as a summit partner and promote the summit and encourage your members to participate in any or all of the programs.
Join the national campaign and host your own event during this week, or whenever works best for you. We will work with your organization to develop and implement a program that is just right for you.

Friday, October 8^th

Shalom, Shabbat! 12:30 PM ET/ 9:30 AM PT – WEBINAR

Join us for this special Shalom, Shabbat! featuring musician Eitan Kantor and the official release of recording of his song Ziv, inspired by his late Aunt who advocated for BRCA testing. We welcome family and friends of those affected by cancer, genetic mutations and family history. Please join us.

Share Sharsheret Photo Contest, All Day

Share Sharsheret with the people in your life! Whatever your plans are for Sunday, tell people about Sharsheret – bring care packages to a local cancer center, share Sharsheret resources, introduce Sharsheret to your friends and family, medical centers, or local organizations. Get the whole family involved and wear Sharsheret apparel proudly around town to raise awareness. Monday, October 11^th

The Girlfriends’ Guide to Breast Cancer Screening, 12 PM ET/ 9 AM PT- WEBINAR

Confused by conflicting guidelines and the array of options available for screening? Join best friends and breast radiologists Robyn Roth, MD and Adrienne Rosenthal, MD for our national webinar focused on understanding the latest in breast cancer screening. We’ll dive into the basics about mammograms, breast MRIs, dense breasts, and more. Plus, what treatment options are available if you are diagnosed.

Dr. Roth and Dr. Rosenthal are diagnostic radiologists at MD Anderson at Cooper University Health Care. They are hosts of the podcast “The Boobie Docs: The Girlfriends’ Guide to Breast Cancer, Breast Health, and Beyond” and bring their expertise to Instagram @theboobiedocs.

Ask Us Anything: Cancer Genetics Beyond BRCA, 9 PM ET/6PM PT – INSTAGRAM LIVE

Join us live on Instagram for this important “Ask Us Anything” discussing hereditary cancer and its impact on the Jewish community. You will hear from Peggy Cottrell, Sharsheret’s genetic counselor offering the latest updates in genetic testing, cancer prevention, and how it impacts men and women in your family, and previvors who have been personally impacted. This will be a free, live event with the opportunity to ask questions of the panelists.
