Dr. Gary Rosenbaum

Dr. Gary Rosenbaum, Chief of Plastic Surgery at Mount Sinai Medical Center, is a double board-certified plastic and general surgeon specializing in reconstructive breast surgery and plastic surgery in the greater South Florida area. One of the leading breast reconstructive specialists in the state of Florida for over 20 years, Dr. Rosenbaum currently performs implant, as well as DIEP, SGAP, SIEA, and Latissimus flap breast reconstructions. Using cutting-edge surgical techniques, Dr. Rosenbaum provides advanced reconstructive options to those who have had mastectomies, lumpectomies, and previous breast augmentation procedures. Dr. Rosenbaum is a member of Sharsheret’s Southeast Community Advisory Committee and frequently lectures, using his medical experience and vast knowledge of reconstructive surgery to shed light on the subject of breast cancer recovery, including nationally televised appearances on NBC and CBS.
Jamie Gurvitch

Jamie Greenwald Gurvitch was raised and lived in New Rochelle, New York and now resides in South Florida. A friend of Jamie and Jamie’s sister-in-law recommended her to Sharsheret when she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009. From that introduction, Jamie was connected to Shera Dubitsky, a Sharsheret social worker who supported Jamie and her family throughout breast surgery, oncology, diagnostics, treatment and treatment options, side effects, psychological support and more. Since that time Jamie has been a committed, active Sharsheret volunteer always at the ready to help and provide Sharsheret resources to others. She is a founding member of the Southeast Community Advisory Committee and a Peer Supporter in Sharsheret’s Link program. Jamie partakes in Sharsheret’s Annual Peer Support Training Webinar, Pink Shabbat Programming, Pink Day, Sharsheret Race for the Cure, past co-chair for Sharsheret South Florida Gala, community co-chair Pies for Prevention, co-chair for Women’s Tennis Round Robin Tournament, and more. Jamie has a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and utilizes those skills in her and her husband’s business along with her past work at Camp Lavi and Grand Getaways Passover Program. Jamie and her husband Ira have four children Ellin, Pamela, Benjamin & Malka and their first grandchild, Nathan.
Stacey Lieberman

In February 2023, Stacey Lieberman learned she carried the BRCA 1 genetic mutation. Between August and October 2023, Stacey underwent a prophylactic double mastectomy and immediate reconstruction and a prophylactic complete hysterectomy. Since then, Stacey joined Sharsheret’s Southeast Advisory Committee and Sharsheret’s Peer Support Network. Her advocacy on behalf of Sharsheret and her mission to educate her Jewish sisters about the BRCA mutation has just gotten started. At synagogues, day schools and Jewish Community Centers, Stacey speaks on behalf of Sharsheret, shares her personal experience being a BRCA 1 carrier, and encourages families’ to engage in life-saving conversations and to pursue genetic testing, if appropriate. In March 2024, Stacey attended the State of the Union Address as the guest of Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, advocating that in vitro fertilization remain an unencumbered right for BRCA carriers. Stacey will be running the Miami Half Marathon in February 2025 as a Team Sharsheret athlete. Stacey, a non-practicing lawyer turned professional organizer and her husband, Philippe Lieberman, a commercial litigator, reside in Hollywood. They are both fertility warriors and are the proud parents of Andy and Olivia, both fifth graders and born 8 months apart.
