Sharsheret and Alpha Epsilon Phi Partnership
In 2008, Alpha Epsilon Phi National Sorority selected Sharsheret as a national philanthropic partner. Since then, the relationship between the women of AEPhi and Sharsheret has only continued to blossom and grow; our link only has become stronger. AEPhi has honored Sharsheret by hosting hundreds of creative events, fundraisers, and educational seminars. Through Valentine’s day bake sales, pink parties, and healthy living demonstrations, AEPhi has simultaneously helped to raise over 1 million dollars for Sharsheret, while educating countless individuals about the importance of breast and ovarian cancer education and awareness. At Sharsheret, we are truly grateful for our partnership with AEPhi, and we can not wait to see the relationship continue to grow over the oncoming years. Together we help ensure that no one or family has to face breast cancer alone. Get started and raise awareness with AEPhi and Sharsheret on your campus or as an alumni in your community.

PROGRAM IDEAS AND EVENTS
Sharsheret’s campus liaison will work with you one-on-one to identify an event or program in-person or virtually best suited for your campus. The following are some ideas to get you started.
- Phi Hop – Have your friends hop over to a ticketed all-you-can-eat pancakes night! Go all out with package flavors, toppings, and music!
- Ballin’ for Breast Cancer – Host a bra pong tournament to raise awareness about breast and ovarian cancer on campus. We encourage you to use pink cups and balls!
- Ribbons on the Runway – Host a fabulous Fashion Show Fundraiser! Consider auctioning the runway pieces, or hosting a clothing sale on the side.
- Bouquet Making – . Host a classy flower making night! Make Bouquets, while drinking pink and teal mocktails! The flowers can either be donated locally to individuals affected by cancer, or may be sold around campus as a great fundraiser!
- Campus Sale – Host a campus sale to raise awareness and funds! You can sell baked goods, flowers, hot chocolate, or more! We recommend handing out Sharsheret educational materials at the sales!
- Phi Hoops – Unleash your competitive side and host a 5 on 5 basketball tournament with a fraternity on campus. We encourage you to create teams from greek life and non greek life. These teams may compete for prizes, while raising awareness for breast cancer and ovarian cancer.
- Workout Class – Gather your campus workout enthusiasts for a soulcycle, yoga, or pilates class! Have a talk at the beginning of the class about the importance of understanding our bodies and our genetics!
- Challah Bake – Get out your flour, sugar, white, eggs, yeast, and host a Sharsheret pink/teal Challah bake. We encourage you to dye the Challah pink/teal. We are happy to send you our Sharsheret Challah baking cards and Challah insights!
- YAD: Young Adult Caring Corner – Host a YAD education/wellness event. YAD is a Sharsheret program designed to support college students’ families affected by breast cancer and ovarian cancer. Host an event with the purpose of raising awareness about Sharsheret’s YAD program, and spreading support to your fellow students!
- Health and Education Fairs – Manage a table at a health or education fair on campus. We will provide you with Sharsheret educational resources, giveaways, and talking points. If there is a day dedicated to health on campus, consider tabling in front of the student union! We encourage you to create a new student interest form. If new students sign up on the form, consider creating an event in collaboration with these students on campus.

Why I Thank My College-Self for My Breast Cancer Survival:
By Marissa Kaufman-July 25, 2024
“When I was an undergraduate student at Indiana University, I was lucky enough to follow in my mom’s footsteps and become a member of Alpha Epsilon Phi sorority during my 2nd semester in 2012. My mom had just beat her battle with ovarian cancer right before I left for college, so I was honored to follow her legacy. During the recruitment process, I remember learning about AEPhi’s philanthropies and immediately felt a connection to Sharsheret.” Continue Reading!
My Sharsheret Campus Connection: AEPhi and my Previvor Journey
By Rachel Wojnilower, January 22, 2024
“I am a BRCA gene mutation carrier, which means that I am at a much higher risk for developing breast cancer and ovarian cancer, among other cancers. In the past few years, I had two prophylactic (preventative) surgeries that should significantly reduce the risk.
I went to college at American University in DC and at AU I was in the AEPhi sorority. One of the philanthropies that AEPhi supported was Sharsheret. To be honest, I knew that they supported people with cancer, but didn’t really know much else – and definitely didn’t know that I would one day get to know the organization on a much more personal level.” Continue Reading!
From AEPhi Sorority Sister To Sharsheret Caller To Summer Intern
By Marissa Piazzola September 12, 2022
“You should reach out to Sharsheret.” This was one piece of advice among many that I received as I processed my breast cancer diagnosis last year at age 30. The organization sounded familiar from my college days as an AEPhi sorority sister. I had been feeling so stressed, sad, and confused and needed to find targeted support. I decided to send an email that very day. I got a quick reply from one of the incredible social workers and knew right away that my connection to Sharsheret would last far beyond those early days of cancer. Continue Reading!
